Summer Time!

Well being a teacher does have some bennies~ Summers Off!!!!! Which means more time for cake popping :)
I have been pretty busy with end of the year gifts and parties, my favorite so far are the beach balls and this time I decided to put sand in the sand pails to hold up the pops.  It just added and extra touch.

I was also asked to replicate the mascot for the Children's Museum here in Sacramento.  They turned out pretty cute!  That same week I also did my first Angry Bird!  I have been wanting to try them and what fun those were.  I did the Green Pig and Red Angry Bird along with glitter black and yellow balls.  For the birthday boy he wanted a BIG KING PIG.  It took some figuring out but overall a success.
For my son's preschool they had an end of the year party at The Hamburger Farm.  So it was only appropriate to make pigs and chicks and sunflowers (they did a little song about sunflowers and wore sunflower hats).

My son's Thomas bday cake pops
The holidays were quiet in the kitchen which was good b/c I got to spend time with my little one.  Once the holidays were over though I was busy busy busy!  Last week I had 7 1/2 dozen cake pops.  As overwhelming as it may seem I really do enjoy it.  I got to try some new designs like pirates.  I was also asked to do cake pops for a baby shower but the theme was Candy Land.  So I used the colors in the game to make sparkly balls. In the last few months we had Superbowl and since there was a Nor Cal team I just had to make some cake pops to support the teams.  My son also turned 3 and this is the first year I made cake pops for his birthday party.  I usually make dipped pretzels but thought I would change it up this year.

Happy Holidays

So sorry it has been so long but I have been busy with cake pops and life!
The holidays always seem to sneak up on me.  I did have time to make some cute Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas cake pops.  I wanted to share and hope you enjoy them just as much as I enjoyed making them.  I always love trying new things, which is what I did for the Frankenstines, turkeys and adapted the snowmen.

Valentines is coming up and I would love to find something new to try, wonder what I will come up with?????

Sorry its been a while... A long while!

My summer came and went!  I started back at work in August and ever since then the time just keeps going faster and faster.  I have had time to do a couple of cake pop orders and wanted to share some pictures.  I had a big wedding order to do, 12 dozen owls, hearts and balls.  I was happy to hear they were a big hit!  I have also been busy creating 3 new designs: Elmo's, squirrels and apple laptops.  All turning out way better then I expected.  I love when that happens.
With the holidays coming up I cant wait to start creating more.  My favorite holiday is Halloween and I already have some ideas that I want to try.  Cant wait to share.

August

Well another busy month in the works!  I have a huge order this month for a wedding reception that I am totally excited about.  Along with that order I have taken on a couple other orders and of course all are new creations.  I recieved and email for cute beach ball cake pops, thought it would be prefect for summer.  Then one of my friends said her fiance is a big Nascar Carl Edwards fan so I made race cars for his birthday.  Since school is starting soon I had a request for cake pops for the teachers so I made pencils and apples (how appropriate for school).  Another new one was a book for a birthday guy who taught law.  Then there is the wedding, 12 dozen.  It is amazing how many cakes you have to make for 12 dz. The theme is shabby chic but the bride also likes owls so I am making owls, hearts and balls in the shabby chic colors they chose.
On top of all the orders I also have to get my classroom ready to head back to work/school myself.  I have a feeling the next few weeks will be keeping me pretty busy!

Busy month ahead

July was nice a quite, I was able to sneak off to Hawaii for a week and it was so relaxing but now back to work in the kitchen.  August will be a very busy month for me.  I am excited to say I have my first BIG client, cake pops for a wedding reception.

In July I did try another first, wedding cake cake pops and beach balls.  Both I have to say turned out better then I expected.
